Nearing Chillon Castle on the lake
Chillon Castle dates from the 10th century.
It is on a small island on the lake and built so it was easy to defend.
Parts of the castle were used as a prison.

Although we previous owned a St. Bernard, we didn’t see a single one in Switzerland.
This large dog was the closest to St. Bernards that we saw.
Stone roof on one of the stores
Marvels of Swiss engineering were all over the country.
