As we left Leon, we passed by the bullfight ring. The killing of bulls at these rings is increasingly being banned in Spain.
On our way to Santander, we saw some beautiful farms from the bus.
At Santander, one of our first sites was Palacio de Deportes de Santander, a 6,000 seat arena for basketball and handball.
Santander is a beautiful city of about 180,000, popular as a summer resort.

We visited Magdalena Park and encountered penguins.
A few sea lions were also swimming at the park.
The three ships were created in memory of Vital Alsar, sailor of Santander. There are three galleons he used for his expedition on the Atlantic Ocean, commemorating the expedition of Spanish explorer, Orellana.
The raft vessel is a replica of boat Alsar used to cross the Pacific in the 1970s. The artist, Salvador Dali, made a sail for the ship.

Late Saturday afternoon, we arrived at Bilbao and went to Mass at San Jose Church of the Mountain before going out to dinner.
On the way back to the hotel, we encountered one of Bilbao's modern buildings with changing lights on the facade.
