We traveled from London to Rome on October 21.  The next day, we walked around Vatican City and then headed towards the Spanish Steps area near where we stayed on a previous visit forty years ago. Rome hasn’t lost its magic and is truly one of the world’s great cities. After spending Monday, October 22, walking around Rome, we went by train to Naples the next day and participated in a walking food tour of the central city. We stopped at lots of stores and street vendors and were stuffed after the two hour lunchtime tour. On October 24, before catching the cruise ship in the afternoon, we went to St. Peter’s Square to see Pope Francis and fortunately were extremely close, a wonderful experience.
