Havana

March 30-April 1, 2018

Our final day in Havana was Easter Sunday.  After being given the wrong Mass time at one church, we ended up at Havana’s Cathedral for their Easter Mass. Afterwards, we hired a carriage outside to take us to the Hotel Nacional for an Easter lunch.  As we trotted along, we passed the El Malecon, a famous seaside walk in Havana. The hotel was built in 1930 and eventually came under mob control before the revolution of 1959. Today, it is government owned.  Hotels in Cuba are typically majority-owned by the government.
